Business is looking up....a little PDF Print E-mail

So far this year we have only lost one major client, but have picked up two more.  Another has suggested that they are planning to increase their orders just as soon as their own business picks up some.  It is a tough market for everyone right now.  We hope that more of our clients will see this as a good time to keep up scheduled maintenance of the systems they have and perhaps consider upgrades rather than replacement as a way to save money.  Here at Hoag Computer Technologies, we are always here to help you decide which path is the most frugal for your business and to help implement whatever decisions you make.

Here it is 2009-04-02 21:59:15 and I am starting my new web page on an entirely new platform.  This is very exciting as I am seeing new potentials for websites that I design.  Once I have the tools developed that I want to use, I will be proposing changes to all the sites that I am responsible for.  I will be using my website here at www.dd-p.com has the "test area" for some of the new technologies.  If it works here, I can start offering it to my clients.

One thing that I really want to do is make it easy for my clients to add their own content themselves.  One this saves them money and gives them more control over their site's content.  Two, it saves me the time of taking what they have written and posting it for them.  That is not to say that I will not be more than happy to do that, but I want to save my clients money yet still provide an excellent service.  I think that most of my clients would agree that they would rather have me developing new ways to use the web to their advantage than just spending many hours doing routine content updates.

Well that is all for now.  I will be adding notes here as I develop new items.

We have added a very small list of web sites that we have developed.  We will only list sites that (1) We developed, (2) We currently maintain, and (3) We have permission from the owner to highlight here.

Because we suspended our business for a couple of years, many of the web sites we designed were taken over by others who have made changes and so we don't feel they fairly represent our work anymore.  Not to worry though, we will be adding to the list of sites fairly quickly I'm sure.  I expect that business will be strong towards the end of this year.

My prediction is that as the economy tanks under Obamanomics, more and more "brick and mortar" stores will disappear and be replaced with "virtual stores" and the overhead is much less and it is more convenient for many people.  As gas prices rise, people will not want to go on long shopping trips.  They will prefer to shop online and have their products delivered to their door.

The rapidity of that delivery is where a business can really shine.  If they can ship next day air at a reasonable price, people will eat that up.

Well that is all for now.
